What We Do

GBSS facilitates the sale of distressed or “underwater” homes by negotiating the sale of non-performing assets with all secured lien holders. When dealing with non-performing assets, lenders want to avoid the costly foreclosure process and the added expense of hiring attorneys. We convince lenders that they will lose less money on a loan if they agree to sell the home “pre-foreclosure.” If we are successful, the lender (or in some cases, the buyer) typically agrees to pay our fee in consideration of facilitating the short sale. GBSS never collects any fees from the homeowner and we only get paid if the short sale closes. Thus, homeowners are never under any obligation to use our short sale negotiation services and can stop using our service at any time.

History

Andrew Coppo started Greater Boston Short Sales, LLC, in response to the growing inventory of foreclosed homes in Massachusetts. As record numbers of homeowners began defaulting on mortgage payments, lenders also encountered myriad legal obstacles when they attempted to foreclose on homes in Massachusetts. The industry needed a way for lenders to get rid of distressed properties without having to go through the legal system. Homeowners needed a way to get rid of the mortgages they could no longer afford.

As someone who spent a majority of the last decade working with foreclosure departments for each of the major lending institutions, Coppo recognized the need for an independent third-party who could facilitate the short sale between lenders and homeowners. GBSS has an extraordinary short sale success rate because its attorneys are familiar with lenders’ specific short sale policies and procedures. As a result, GBSS can quickly assess whether your property qualifies for a short sale and estimate how long it will take to get your short sale to the closing table.

Why Use Our Services

If we move forward together, we will provide you with a realistic time-frame in which we can get your short sale closed. Again, we do not charge homeowners for using our services. We never collect any fees from homeowners and only get paid if the short sale closes. You are never under any obligation to use our short sale negotiation services and can stop using our services at anytime.
